At its creation, the Université Paris Descartes chose to be placed under the patronage of philosopher Rene Descartes in order to commemorate his truly modern scientific work that included all human knowledge and accordingly the university adopted a multidisciplinary curriculum. The university provides bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in medicine, pharmacy, social sciences and humanities.

The Université Paris Descartes was established in 1970 to offer programs in the humanities, social sciences, and health. A comprehensive university, it offers more than 200 French national diplomas in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, biomedical sciences, humanities, social sciences, psychology and neurosciences, law, political science, economics, management, mathematics, computer science, and physical education.

 

Located in the heart of Paris Latin Quarter is France’s most prominent health sciences university, with faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and biomedical sciences.
